BOW'T TRAIL YOUNG LEADERS • 2021

The youth project

BOW’T TRAIL : TRANSMISSION OF KNOWLEDGE

When I was young I was never interested in history, I simply couldn’t make sense of it. That personal failing, multiplied in society, becomes an alienation for humanity. My lifeline was BOW’T and my sphere of activity the BOW’T TRAIL, because I understood that through art and creation we can become part of history and connect with it.” - Rhodnie Désir

BOW'T TRAIL YOUNG LEADERS:

RD Créations' first youth project

BOW'T TRAIL YOUNG LEADERS is a new stage in BOW’T TRAIL. Through transmission, the objective is to bring autonomy through creation and to discover the choreographic-documentary process, this methodological approach and signature of Rhodnie Désir.

During a cumulative process of 30 days, from research, to meeting specialists, to creation, the young leaders are followed by the choreographer and the associated professor. The project takes place in two stages: the meeting with memory keepers and the creation. Periods of support, personalized tools and meetings between young people and Rhodnie Désir are planned throughout the project.

Getting into the BOW’T TRAIL process is an investment that requires listening and special attention. The investment comes down to anchoring an innovative learning approach rather than giving rise to the spectacular form of representation. The process and mechanics through which students pass reveal their autonomy so that they become leaders.

The first #BTJEUNESLEADERS youth project took place in Sarasota, Florida in 2021 with Booker High School and supported by John & Mable Ringling Museum.
